My
half day adventures occur once a week except during my
multi day Adventures where they will only be available once that entire
month.
All my half day adventures have the option of 4 different locations.
Most people learn through different methods and have different levels of knowledge when it comes to photography so none of my Photo Adventures are one size fits all. Each one is set up with each individuals needs in mind. My own teaching style DOES NOT involve "this is how you do it" or "it has to be done this way" but is tailored to help the individual develop their own style and vision. I will not teach you to photograph for the Instagram crowd, but for your own inspiration
After booking you will receive further communications from me to determine your needs and develop a game plan for the day.
Colorado's Alps
For the San Juan Mountains we will always meet at the Visitor Center in Ridgway and continue on from there. Upon signing up and determining date and time I will give out the meeting address
From here we will continue onto the Silverton region. It is a very expansive region so there are many options to choose from including Ouray, Red Mountain Pass, US Basin, Velocity Basin, Molas Lake etc.
Silverton despite it's outdoor recreation popularity is a tiny town of only 530 people and seems to be locked in time. The whole region is grandiose in mountain scenery and unlimited things to do outdoors. The San Juan Mountains are not a part of the Rockies, they ARE the Rockies
For the San Juan Mountains we will always meet at the Visitor Center in Ridgway and continue on from there. Upon signing up and determining date and time I will give out the meeting address
From here we will continue onto the Telluride region. This area like Silverton is quite expansive so we are not limited to just Telluride. Last Dollar Road, Wilson Mesa, Ophir, and Trout Lake are amongst numerous locations that are open to us
Like Aspen, Telluride is home to several celebrities including Tom Cruise and Oprah Winfrey, but we won't deal with that. Our goal is to get the feel for the older parts of the town, it's rich mining history and perhaps go for a fun ride on it's one-of-it's-kind in US transportation system, the free gondola
Famous locations and landmarks
The Maroon Bells are a heavily restricted area due to it's popularity so
I am only allowing 1 person at a time. I recommend Spring or Summer
bookings as Autumn is typically overwhelmed with photographers,
something I do not want to be a part of. There is also an entry fee at
the Maroon Bells through most of the season and you are responsible for
the fee. it is usually $5 per car: As of 2020 Aspen has added
additional restrictions for entry to the Maroon Bells due to Covid-19
which includes a reservation system and maximum number of daily
visitors, I have no control over these restrictions and hopefully will
eventually be lifted in the next year or two.
There is a possibility these restrictions will remain in place permanently.
Due to these restrictions I do not recommend going here anymore
Due to the expansive nature of the San Juan Mountains and the Crested Butte areas, the given locations are only in general, and after booking your chosen locations we will go over the specifics prior to the day
